A Garden District mansion owned by Beyoncé and Jay-Z caught fire Wednesday according to The Times-Picayune | The Advocate.
The 1-alarm fire broke out about 6:15 p.m. in the 1500 block of Harmony Street. No one was hurt.
The cause of the fire is unknown and no one was home at the time of the fire. The home is owned by Sugarcane Park LLC, a management company owned by Beyoncé since 2015 as WWLTV reports.
Estimates say the historic house is worth about $2.4 million.
The blaze was extinguished by 22 firefighters, a department spokesperson confirmed to the New York Post.
“If they didn’t get there when they did, it could have been much worse. It’s a historic home,” the spokesperson told The Post, adding that there were no injuries and no evacuations.
