As pop-up thunderstorms create a flash flood threat across the New Orleans metro and the surrounding area, New Orleans city leaders are allowing drivers to park their cars on the neutral ground until that threat subsides.
According to NOLA Ready, neutral ground parking is in effect until 9 p.m. Sunday. Drivers who park on the neutral ground are reminded not to block sidewalks, street car paths, bike paths, or intersections.
The National Weather Service in Slidell has issued flash flood warnings for Orleans, Jefferson, St. Bernard, Plaquemines, St. Charles and St. John the Baptist parishes until 6:45 p.m.
