A 17-year-old is the fourth person to be arrested in the shooting death of a teenager in New Orleans that happened early spring in Algiers.
New Orleans Police said Wednesday that Andrea Orozco faces charges of principal to second degree murder and other charges.
Investigators located Orozco in the 3100 block of Bienville Street. A a brief standoff between her and U.S. Marshals and the NOPD Violent Offenders Warrant Squad ensued, before she was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center.
Police say early in the morning of March 23, a group of people were attempting to leave the area of Socrates St. and Brooklyn Ave. after getting into a shouting match with another group.
"The first group of males entered their vehicle to leave the area when the other group opened fire, striking two of the victims," said police. "Both victims were transported to the hospital, where one victim later died."
Authorities identified the deceased as 17-year-old Noe Padilla.
Days after the crime, police arrested three other suspects: 20-year-old Angel Balderon, 19-year-old Bryan Armando Estrada-Hernandez, and 17-year-old Jeffrey Mulul. Each of them were booked on one count of second degree murder and four counts of attempted second degree murder.
