New Orleans Police say man was stabbed Monday morning on the Westbank.
An initial police report says the victim was near the corner of Cypress Acres Drive and Vespasian Blvd.
"The victim was walking when approached by the suspect, who propositioned him."
The man tells investigators he declined the unidentified suspect's invitation and just kept walking.
"A short time later, a bystander stopped the victim and advised him that he was bleeding."
Cops say it was not until then that the man realized he had been assaulted.
"The victim then discovered that he had sustained multiple stab wounds."
It happened around 7:30am.
Police did not advise the victim's condition, nor what -if any- other circumstances may have led to him not knowing he had been repeatedly stabbed.
