There was an overnight shooting outside of Caesars Casino in downtown New Orleans.
Witnesses reported hearing gunfire just after 1:30am at the foot of Canal Street.
A man leaving the casino was reported hit by a bullet.
Initial reports indicate he was shot in the hand.
The victim was receiving treatment at a local hospital at last report.
There has been no initial word from New Orleans Police about any suspects.
NOPD Sgt. Barry Fletcher said, "Officers responded to the 100 block of Canal Street shortly before 1:40 am on a report of a shooting. Officers found an adult male victim suffering from a gunshot wound. New Orleans EMS transported the victim to hospital. No further information is currently available."
