New Orleans Police are asking for help finding a 35-year-old man they say murdered his toddler son.
"Jilder Miranda-Fuentes, Hispanic male, DOB: 10/09/1990, is sought on charges of Second Degree Murder & Second Degree Cruelty to a Juvenile," according to a news release.
The case dates back more than eight years.
"On May 21, 2018, NOPD Child Abuse Investigators were called to the 2300 Block of Bienville Street to investigate the death of a two-year-old boy who had sustained multiple injuries to his entire body."
Detectives say the baby's dad is the killer, but he remains at large.
"Through investigation, the case was determined to be a homicide and the baby's father, Jilder Miranda-Fuentes was identified as the perpetrator. Fuentes may have fled to Guatemala, but that has not been confirmed."
