The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a fatal traffic incident near Dillard University.
NOPD originally reported it shortly after 12:30 p.m. as a hit-and-run. A little more than half-an-hour later, they changed the signal to a traffic fatality and clarified that it is not considered a hit-and-run.
According to police, a teenage juvenile male was hit by a vehicle at Norman Mayer Ave. and Gentilly Blvd.
He was pronounced dead at the scene.
