New Orleans police are investigating a homicide in St. Roch.
It happened around 11:20 a.m. Saturday on Franklin Avenue near North Johnson Street.
According to an NOPD spokesperson, responding officers found a woman dead at the scene. Investigators initially ruled the case as an unclassified death, but several hours later, they changed the code to homicide.
Police did not say how the victim died. A spokesperson said the Orleans Parish coroner will announce the cause of death and the victim’s identity after he completes an autopsy.
