Two separate Sunday night shootings, the fifth and sixth in the city of New Orleans in a 24-hours span, have left one man dead and another wounded.

The first shooting happened on South Robertson Street near Toledano in Central City. Police say a man was grazed by a bullet. A spokesman did not provide any other information about the victim or the shooting.

The other shooting happened around 9 p.m. on Third Street at Derbigny Street in the Hoffman Triangle. Police say the victim suffered a back wound. That victim later died. Police are now investigating that case as a homicide.

These shootings are the latest in what has been a violent weekend in the city of New Orleans. A total of seven people have been shot in the city since around 9 p.m. Saturday night, with two of those victims dying of their wounds. During that same span, the NOPD responded to two armed robberies, a rape, and an abduction.

If you have any information about any of these cases, call the NOPD at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
