“I don’t know about you, but I’m pissed… And I’m at that point where I’ve kind of had enough. I’d like to resolve these issues and move on to more important things.”
What had WWL’s Newell Normand so riled up on the Thursday episode of his daily show? It boiled down to what the former sheriff called a “culture of noncompliance” in cities across America.
“We’ve let the progressives decide that property crimes are not really going to lead to the degradation of the quality of life that we have,” Normand said. “It’s just not going to happen. So that’s not the priority. We need to just focus on violent crime.
“As a result, now you can’t even go to a store,” he added.
However, Normand took the opportunity to applaud Kenner Police Chief Keith Conley for his crackdown on drivers sporting fake temporary license plates on their cars.
“There’s no paperwork. There's no driver’s license. There’s no anything,” he said of the drivers with their falsified license plates. “There's no way to go track these folks down there. Uninsured motorists end up having to pay for the damages to their vehicle, and guess what happens. You got it. Rates go up, right? You pay more in premium. We need to get more aggressive. These are all byproducts of this call to noncompliance.”
