As some states begin to follow Florida’s lead in putting new regulations on what sort of medical treatments parents are allowed to approve for their transgender children, the debate has arisen as to whose side the science is on.
Jarrett Stepman of the Heritage Foundation believes it is not on the side of the Left, who have taken up the fight against the Republican-led regulations.
“One of the disturbing elements of this, where science really disputes those who believe in transitioning young children,” Stepman said, “I think you’ve seen a very broad effort to suppress any talk of where the science says that’s wrong.”
Stepman said he feels his work at the Heritage Foundation and at the Daily Signal is being silenced by “Big Tech.”
“We’ve had our videos censored by YouTube and by these big tech companies,” Stepman said. “We’ve had a full-on book by a former co-worker Ryan Anderson about this issue that was essentially pulled from Amazon. So not only is it not following the science, but any debate about this is effectively being suppressed by many institutions who don’t like the answers.”
