"We keep talking and having press conferences. I just can't wait until something is actually delivered," WWL host Newell Normand said on his Wednesday show when discussing the ongoing crime problem in New Orleans.

His guest, Metropolitan Crime Commission head Rafael Goyeneche agreed. "It seems like with certain politicians, marijuana may be more important than public safety."

That led to Normand giving his take on the ongoing change in public sentiment about marijuana.

"They don't want the odor emanating from marijuana as being one of the ingredients, so to speak, of formulating probable cause to make a stop," Normand said. "They're just trying to make it harder for police to do anything. Do they not understand the impact of what they're doing? I just don't get it."
