“Can you just imagine if we took another 300 of these knuckleheads off the street? The impact would be huge because, in the end, when you have a system that's actually clicking on all cylinders, it’s a lot easier to impact the quality of life from a law enforcement perspective.”

Back from some time off, WWL host Newell Normand was back about the business of analyzing the crime in the city and said the Louisiana Sheriff’s Deputies working as part of the police force in New Orleans are helping do their part to lower the city’s crime rate by doing simple policework.

“The message that will be sent and the impact that will be had” is an important one, Normand said.

“Of course, that assumes for the moment that our magistrate judges actually do what they’re hired to do, right? Protect us. Protect the rights of the arrested subject, but more importantly, protect us, the law-abiding citizens,” he continued.
