The New Orleans Fire Department battled two fires at two homes on the same street in the span of two hours.

On Monday, the fire department was called to a fire at a home in the 600 block of Harmony Street. When they arrived, flames were extending out the back of the home. The fire was extinguished about 7:00 pm.

Two and a half hours later fire crews were called back to the same street where another home was on fire just a few doors down from the last fire.

The camelback-style double home was fully engulfed in flames when crews arrived. Firefighters got the fire under control at about 10:38 pm.

Once the fire was extinguished, the NOFD says firefighters noticed a strong smell of gasoline coming from the side of the second home on fire. Entergy says no power was going to the home at the time of the fire. The department ruled the cause of the fire as suspicious and it is currently under investigation. No one was injured.
