Firefighters say nobody was injured when a New Orleans East apartment complex caught fire on Sunday.
According to New Orleans Fire Department Captain Quentin Brown, the two-alarm fire happened just before 7 p.m. at the Willowbrook Apartments on Bundy Road.
Brown said when firefighters arrived, witnesses told them people were still inside the building. Firefighters on the scene went through the property to warn and evacuate residents who were unaware of what was happening. As a result, Brown says no casualties occurred.
Firefighters brought the blaze under control within 40 minutes of arriving on scene. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
