
The New Orleans Archdiocese has agreed to pay over a million dollars as part of a final settlement with the Justice Department over FEMA fraud related to Hurricane Katrina damage.
The settlement involves allegations that from 2007 to 2013 the NOLA Archdiocese knowingly signed certifications sent to FEMA that contained false information, including “misstated a facility’s square footage” and “damage to a nonexistent central air conditioning unit.”
