Mardi Gras krewes in New Orleans are just fine with the city's vaccine mandate, if it means they get to have parades this year.
Mardi Gras Guide publisher Arthur Hardy says he is kind of surprised at the level of buy-in from krewe captains, even though they know it will be a logistical challenge for the krewes to check each float rider, band member, and other members of various parade units.
"Nobody's excited about these restrictions, but the spirit is 'all right, let's do it,'" said Hardy.
Hardy says krewe leaders understand that the alternative is to go a second straight year without parading.
