New Orleans Public Schools Thursday announced they will maintain their masking recommendation at least until March 21st. Should COVID community spread levels be low at that point the recommendation would be removed, that according to Superintendant Dr. Henderson Lewis Jr.
This comes as the city-wide mask mandate fell away on Wednesday, but the vaccination mandate appears set to stay in place until the March 21st deadline at the earliest.
While masking will still be in place, other restrictions like social distancing have been dropped.
