New Orleans public school officials say coronavirus cases have tripled in the school system in one week. Those cases include students and staff.
Public school superintendent, Dr. Henderson Lewis, urged families to limit interactions outside their household during the Thanksgiving holiday, and to get tested.
"The data today do not require any system-wide shift in serving our students in person, but they do require us all, especially those who have forgotten, to continue to follow the rules: Mask up, stay socially distanced, wash your hands, and stay home if you feel sick," said Lewis. ."What we do today and over the next week will make all different in the lives of students in weeks to come."
