New Orleans Police say an 11-year-old boy was shot this evening. It happened in New Orleans East.
"Initial reports indicate there is a juvenile victim (11 years old boy) suffering with a gunshot wound(s)," said police. "He is being transported to the hospital for treatment."
Police later reported the victim is in guarded condition, but expected to survive.
The shooting was reported shortly before 8 p.m. in the 7800 block of Venice Boulevard.
