Over the span of 24 hours, the New Orleans Police Department is investigating six armed robberies and one carjacking in the New Orleans area.
All the incidents happened Thursday over 24 hours.
In the 3500 block of Laurel Street, two men were robbed.
One suspect exited the vehicle and pointed a gun at the victims. The second suspect exited the vehicle armed, went through both victims’ pockets, and took one of the men’s wallet before fleeing.
Two men robbed a man in the 5600 block of Bullard Avenue.
The suspects demanded the victim’s property at gunpoint. The victim complied and the suspects fled.
Two more men were robbed in the 1400 block of Saigon Drive. Police did not give details of the incident but said the two suspects have been arrested.
The NOPD says a man was also carjacked yesterday in the 4400 block of Flite Street.
Police say an armed suspect demanded the victim’s vehicle. The victim complied and the suspect fled in the victim’s black 2012 Mercedes E350.
But the armed robberies did not stop there with another incident happening in the 500 block of Saint Charles Avenue. This time a business was robbed by a man says an NOPD report. The suspect entered the business armed with a pipe.
The robber threatened the employees with the pipe and demanded money. The suspect tried to flee the location but was apprehended by NOPD. The suspect provided false identification upon arrest.
Two men robbed another man at the intersection of Elysian Fields Avenue at Allen Toussaint Boulevard.
Police say the suspects grabbed the victim from behind and attempted to go through the victim’s pockets. After the victim broke free, one suspect stabbed the victim. The victim was transported to a local hospital via private conveyance.
Then an attempted armed robbery happened in the 4000 block of Clermont Drive.
Police say a male suspect approached the male victim, produced a gun, and demanded the victim’s belongings. The suspect fled before he could take the victim’s belongings.
