The New Orleans Police Department today announced the arrest of a suspect in a weekend shooting on Bourbon St. that injured two teenagers.
"At about 9:51 p.m., NOPD Eighth District officers responded to an aggravated battery by shooting call at the location," police said. "Upon arrival, officers learned that an unknown female subject allegedly fired a gun multiple times at the location, striking two teenaged juvenile males."
Police say they found 27-year-old Jasmine Evans, of Jacksonville, FL, near the scene, in possession of a handgun. Police say Evans was positively identified as the perpetrator.
"Evans was arrested and booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center for two counts of aggravated second-degree battery," said police. "Anyone with additional information on this incident is asked to contact NOPD Eighth District detectives at 504-658-6080."
