The NOPD Bomb Squad was called to a vacant lot in the 7th Ward after a homeowner discovers a device appearing to be a bomb.
Authorities say this happened Tuesday at about 12:42 p.m. in the 1600 block N. Robertson Street.
A homeowner mowing the vacant lot discovered the device. The NOPD Bomb Squad was called to investigate. Authorities say an IED was discovered and the Bomb Squad successfully removed the device. No injuries or evacuations were reported. Authorities did not say how the device got there or who may be responsible.
