NOPD investigate an Algiers homicide

Police in New Orleans investigate an early morning homicide in Algiers.

According to an initial NOPD report, it happened about 2:19 a.m. Thursday morning.


“NOPD Fourth District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim with multiple gunshot wounds lying on the ground. The victim was declared deceased at the scene,” the report says.

Investigators are working to identify who may be responsible.

The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death once an autopsy is complete and the family is notified.
