The New Orleans Police Department is investigating a single-vehicle fatal traffic accident that happened in New Orleans East on the morning of New Year’s Eve.
“On Thursday, December 30, 2021, around 10:37 p.m., the operator of a blue BMW 528i was exiting Interstate-10 East at Chef Menteur Highway when for unknown reasons the operator veered into the shoulder and hit the concrete wall of the entrance ramp,” said an NOPD report.
The driver of the vehicle died at the scene. Police have not released the driver’s identity nor any other details.
The investigation is ongoing.
