What started as a police response to a car crash on the Interstate, turned into a murder investigation.
It happened Wednesday on I-10 West at Exit 239 near Louisa St.
According to an NOPD report, “At about 11:03 p.m. on February 2, NOPD Third District officers responded to a call of vehicle crash with injury at the location. Upon arrival, officers located a male victim inside of a vehicle and having sustained multiple gunshot wounds. The victim was declared deceased at the scene.”
Investigators are in the process of gathering evidence and information to identify the person or persons responsible for this incident, as well as a motive. No additional details are available at this time.
The Orleans Parish Coroner’s Office will identify the victim and official cause of death upon completion of autopsy and notification of family.
