The New Orleans Police Department is working two homicide investigations in Algiers.
Police say this latest homicide incident happened 2200 block of Cobblestone Lane. It was reported by police shortly before 1:00 p.m.
An initial police report shows a female victim with a gunshot wound. She was declared dead at the scene by EMS.
This is the second Algiers homicide police are investigating today. The first happened shortly after 11:00 a.m. at the intersection of Lamarque and Sumner streets. Investigators have not said if the two homicides are related.
