The New Orleans Police Department’s Traffic Fatality Unit is investigating a fatal crash. It happened around 4:36 on Saturday at the intersection of Chef
Menteur Highway and Dodt Avenue in the seventh district.
Officers were called to the scene where they discovered a dirt bike driver had collided with a Tesla at that intersection.
The dirt bike driver sustained serious injuries and was transported to a local hospital where he later died.
The driver of the Tesla stayed on scene and is cooperating with the investigation.
