New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1500 block of N. Claiborne Ave.
Police say shortly before 6:15 p.m. Friday, officers were sent to investigate a call of a man shot in that location.
"Upon arrival, officers located an unresponsive adult male subject suffering from at least one gunshot wound," said police in a statement. "The victim was taken by EMS to a local hospital where he died a short time later from his injuries."

Callers to Crimestoppers do not have to leave their names and may be eligible for a cash reward for information that leads to an arrest and indictment.
