New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 1600 block of Josephine Street, off of St. Charles Avenue.
The call originally came in as the 2000 block of St. Charles, where it intersects Josephine.
Police say shortly before 3:00 p.m. today, officers were sent to investigate a call of shots fired in that location.
"Initial reports show a male victim having sustained a gunshot wound," said police in a statement. The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital.
