New Orleans Police homicide detectives are investigating a fatal shooting in the 4300 block of St. Claude Avenue.
WWL-TV reports the killing happened in the parking lot of the Church's Fried Chicken restaurant at the corner of St. Claude and Lesseps St.
Police say shortly after 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, officers were sent to investigate a call of a man shot in that location.
"Initial report show that a man sustained at least one gunshot wound to his body," said police in a statement. "EMS transported the victim to a local hospital."
The victim was pronouncd dead a short time later.
