NOPD investigates a shooting near the N.O. Convention Center

A man was shot in front of the New Orleans Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.

The New Orleans Police Department reported early Monday morning that they are investigating the shooting which they are working to determine when the shooting happened.

According to an NOPD report, “Eighth District Officers are currently investigating a shooting where an adult male was shot to the elbow at the intersection of Julia Street and Convention Center Blvd. No further information is available at this time.” NOPD detectives determined that the shooting incident occurred during an attempted armed robbery between the suspect and the victim.

This comes as the NOPD is investigating a homicide in the CBD that happened on Sunday.

"Members of the New Orleans Police Department are investigating the fatal shooting of a 22-year-old male and the shooting of two adult males.  The offense occurred in the 300 block of Baronne Street," NOPD Spokesperson Officer Garry Flot said.
