NOPD: Kirkpatrick hits French Quarter pedestrians with car

Anne Kirkpatrick
New Orleans City Council

New Orleans Police Superintendent Anne Kirkpatrick hit two pedestrians while driving through the French Quarter, with one of those pedestrians going to the hospital with injuries.

The crash happened just before 7 p.m. Saturday at the corner of Decatur and Iberville Streets.

According to an NOPD spokesperson, EMTs took one of the pedestrians, a woman, to a hospital, where she is listed as stable. The second pedestrian, a man, told first responders that he was not injured.

The spokesperson says Kirkpatrick submitted breathalyzer and urine samples as part of the ongoing investigation. The breathalyzer sample, according to the spokesperson, indicated no alcohol in Kirkpatrick’s system—a 0.00 result. The test results on the urine sample are still pending. The spokesperson says those results are due in a few days.
