New Orleans police say a suspect is at large after a machete attack Monday night.
"The victim and suspect were engaged in a verbal altercation when the suspect armed himself with a machete and struck the victim," according to an initial police report. "The suspect fled in an unknown direction."
The report says the victim did not know the suspect.
The victim was treated at the hospital, but there was no word on the victim's condition.
It happened around 8:00pm in the 1200 block of St. Roch Avenue.
