The New Orleans Police Department announces an arrest in Thursday’s fatal shooting in the 800 block of Hagan Street.
Police have arrested Enrique J. Garcia, 24, in connection with that homicide investigation.
“At about 3:47 p.m., NOPD First District officers responded to a call of an aggravated battery by shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers discovered inside of a residence an unresponsive adult male with multiple gunshot wounds,” said an NOPD report.
The victim was declared dead at the scene.
The NOPD says through investigation, Homicide Unit detectives quickly identified Garcia as the perpetrator in this incident.
Officers found Garcia and placed him under arrest without incident. He was booked into the Orleans Parish Justice Center on a charge of second-degree murder.
