The New Orleans Police department arrested a man for negligent homicide in the shooting death of a woman in Uptown Saturday night.
Police booked 28-year-old Ken Scott on Monday.
"At about 11:07 p.m., NOPD Second District officers responded to a call of a shooting at the location. Upon arrival, officers located two victims, an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds to the leg and an adult female suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen," police said in a statement.
Police say Scott was that man with the gunshot wound to the leg, and their investigation identified him as the perpetrator in this incident.
In addition to negligent homicide, Scott also faces charges of illegal possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
