UPDATE: New Orleans Police now say seven people were victims, including three children.
What was initially reported as a double shooting around 6pm in New Orleans East off Bullard Avenue and Chef Menteur Highway has expanded into multiple shooting incident.
NOPD reports the scope of the investigation has expanded in both victims and fatalities.
A woman was declared dead at the scene in a car. A man died at the hospital.
Another woman was transported to the hospital with a gunshot wound to the leg.
Two children were also wounded: A three year old suffered a gunshot wound to the buttocks, an eight year old sustained a graze wound to the leg.
