The New Orleans Police Department is investigating two separate shootings that happened overnight. One of those shootings, police say, is a homicide.
The first happened around 11 p.m. Saturday on Marais Street near Iberville in the Tremé. Police say when they arrived, they found a man dead of a gunshot wound.
The second shooting happened around 5 a.m. Sunday on Common Street near St. Charles in the Central Business District. Police say that shooting left a woman in the hospital with a foot wound.
So far, police have made no arrests or developed any suspects in either case.
