With massive crowds packing the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans for the NBA YoungBoy concert Monday night, there were reports of gunfire.
"NOPD responded to reports of shots fired inside the Smoothie King Arena," Officer Reese Harper said in an email.
Harper says, however, cops could not find anything to suggest someone was shooting a gun.
"At this time, there is no evidence of shots fired. Early indications are that this was a false alarm."
Investigators say officers responded immediately and ensured the area was secure.
"No gunshot injuries have been reported at this time. An investigation is underway into what prompted the report."
It comes one day after the Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office received an apparently false report of an active shooter at a Metairie Mall. JPSO says they got a call about an armed suspect at Lakeside Shopping Center that turned out to be a "prank."
