The New Orleans Police Department is searching for Darran Boykin in connection to an alleged assault and kidnapping incident that happened today.
Police say it happened in the early morning hours in the 1500 block of Numa Street.
An NOPD report says, “Through investigation, NOPD Fourth District detectives determined that at about 1:45 a.m., Boykin allegedly struck a male victim several times to the head and body with a firearm while the victim was asleep. Boykin is then believed to have struck a female victim with his hands, pointed the gun at her head and removed her from the residence against her will. Boykin and the female victim then reportedly fled the scene in a vehicle, described as a dark-colored newer model Hyundai sedan with an unknown Mississippi license plate.”
Once police find Boykins he will be arrested on charges including aggravated second-degree battery, aggravated assault with a firearm, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, simple kidnapping, and battery on a dating partner according to the report.
