Update: The suspect in the stand off has now been arrested.
The NOPD says 32-year-old Cornell Johnson was wanted on two counts of attempted first degree murder. When U.S. Marshals went to arrest Johnson he barricaded himself inside the home. After an hour long stand off Johnson is now in custody.

The New Orleans Police Department says a SWAT unit was mobilized on a home in the 6000 block of Urquhart Street in the Lower Ninth Ward.
Initial police information shows a subject is barricaded inside of the residence. No additional information is currently available as it is a developing situation.
The NOPD advises the public to avoid the area until police activity has concluded.
