A standoff between the New Orleans Police SWAT team and a wanted man ended with the suspect in custody Wednesday afternoon.
The suspect, wanted in a recent home invasion, barricaded himself in an apartment at S. Dorgenois and Gravier streets late this morning.
Residents of the Falstaff Apartments were asked to shelter in place for hours, while residents who were already outside the complex were unable to return home until the situation resolved.
Police say after the suspect receives treatment for minor cuts, he will be booked into the parish lockup.
