Five teenagers are facing armed robbery and second-degree battery charges after police say they pistol whipped two homeless men in the French Quarter and stole their belongings.

According to the New Orleans Police Department’s major offense log, Keith Morvant, Leland Fitch, Jaden LeBeouf, and two minors attacked the victims around 2:30 a.m. Sunday on St. Peter Street near Woldenberg Park.

Investigators say the five suspects approached the first victim and hit him with a head with a gun. Police say after that, the five approached the second victim, struck him with a gun, and took his backpack and bicycle. According to investigators, the suspects then threw that victim’s belongings into the Mississippi River and ran away from the scene.

The first victim was taken to a hospital by an EMS crew.
Police did not say if the second victim received medical treatment.

In addition to the armed robbery and battery charges, Morvant, Fitch, and LeBeouf, all 18-years-old, are each facing one count of contributing to the delinquency of a juvenile. Their bond is set at $135,000.
