New Orleans police are trying to identify a carjacking suspect who allegedly told his victims his name was that of a basketball hall-of-famer.
NOPD officials released the picture of the suspect, who is accused of committing two separate carjackings in the last two weeks—one on October 3 and another on October 7–both on the North I-10 Service Road near Crowder Boulevard.
According to investigators, the suspect told the victims that his name was “Larry Bird” and that he was interested in buying their vehicles. The suspect then stole the victims’ cars by force when he met up with them.
If you recognize the suspect, call the NOPD at 504-658-5300 or Crimestoppers at 504-822-1111.
