Two women are in area hospitals following separate shootings in New Orleans on Friday.
According to NOPD spokesman Aaron Looney, the first shooting happened around 4:45 p.m. on Trapier Avenue near Morrison Road in New Orleans East. Looney says the victim was shot in the leg. An EMS crew responded and took her to the hospital.
Police learned about the second shooting after the victim arrived at a local hospital with wounds to the thigh and the buttocks. Hospital personnel called police around 7:10 p.m. to notify them of the shooting. According to Looney, investigators are working to find out where and when that shooting happened.
