A woman is in the Orleans Parish Prison after authorities say she stabbed an employee at an Upper Garden District business.
It happened around noon on Wednesday at a business on Magazine Street near Josephine Street.
According to the New Orleans Police Department's major offense log, Sharon Stewart entered the business, approached the victim, and hit her in the face before stabbing her several times. The report also says Stewart tried to attack two other employees before running out of the establishment. Police later arrested Stewart without incident.
Stewart is facing an aggravated battery charge. Police did not disclose the victim's condition.
