Police in New Orleans are working to determine the location where a man was shot overnight.
An initial police report says, “The NOPD is investigating a shooting where a male victim with an unspecified gunshot wound arrived via private conveyance to a local hospital. The exact location of occurrence is currently unknown.”
Police received the initial call at about 12:50 a.m. early Monday morning with confirmation coming at about 2:30 a.m. according to the report.
Shootings across the city are on the rise. According to the New Orleans City Council’s Crime Dashboard, shootings in the metro area are up 71% making for 299 shootings so far, this year. That is up from 174 shootings in 2020.
