The St. Tammany Parish Coroner says identified man who died after kitchen fire.
"Randy Moore, 69, of N. Willie Road, Folsom, died... from injuries sustained in a kitchen fire at his home." Spokesman James Hartman said in a news release.
Dr. Christopher Tape says more was severely burned and suffered smoke inhalation.
"Moore’s wife was able to escape the home, but as Mr. Moore tried to extinguish the fire himself it spread, trapping him inside. Firefighters and personnel from the St. Tammany Parish Sheriff’s Office extricated Moore from the home using a chainsaw."
He was being treated at University Medical Center in New Orleans.
"Despite continued medical treatment, he was unable to recover."
