NEW YORK (WBEN) - Earlier in the week, Governor Andrew Cuomo announced that Friday's press conference will mark his last daily Covid-19 update for New York residents as infection numbers continue to dwindle.

More good news.NYS performed 68,541 tests yesterday.Only 618 came back positive.⁰That’s just 0.90%. The lowest percent positive since we started.

"Highest number of tests, lowest percent positive...so that is just great news," said Cuomo in Thursday's briefing. "That's why I'm in such a happy-go-lucky mood; that's why I'm a cool dude in a loose mood."

"It's all good news all across the board," said Cuomo.

However, the same can't be said for many states around the country, especially Florida and Arizona, and that's why Cuomo is in no hurry to open everything again.

Florida reported more than 3,000 cases in a single day Thursday morning.

BREAKING: Florida added 3207 new COVID-19 cases overnight. New record.
