The New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Festival delayed its opening Saturday as heavy thunderstorms barreled through the region in the morning.

As a result, the first act scheduled for each stage was canceled, and the second acts had their sets shortened.
Major acts on Saturday's schedule include the Grateful Dead offshoot Dead & Company, the Preservation Hall Jazz Band, The Lumineers, and Anders Osborne.
The fest concludes Sunday with performances by Trombone Shorty and Orleans Avenue, Mumford & Sons, The Radiators, and Tom Jones.
